Assessment of and for Student Learning

Northampton County Public Schools utilize assessments as tools to see what a student knows so that we can plan the next learning experience and report what progress has been made regarding his/her student achievement. Assessments come in various forms, from classroom tests and quizzes to college entrance exams. Assessment of and for student learning can include informal questioning before, during, and after the delivery of instruction. Some assessments are graded, but the goal of any assessment is to help drive instruction for the improvement of individual student achievement.
