Northampton Boys Varsity Soccer extended their postseason success on Thursday with an exciting 3-2 victory over the West Point Pointers. This thrilling win, secured by a single goal, marks the boys' fourth consecutive triumph.

Luke Jones and Martin Montalvo were the heroes of the match, scoring all three goals and bringing their combined season total to eight. This victory also extends NHS's impressive home winning streak to nine games, boosting their overall record to 14-2. Meanwhile, West Point experienced their first loss of the season, dropping their record to 16-1.

Northampton will continue to enjoy home advantage as they welcome Altavista at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given Altavista's recent nail-biting matches, NHS fans can expect a closely contested game!


Girls SoccerThe Northampton Girl's Varsity Soccer team played against West Point last Tuesday, but NHS had to settle for second. They fell just short of the West Point Pointers by a score of 2-1, ending Northampton's three-game winning streak.

The team's lone goal came from Edith Palacio, bringing her season tally to 15 goals. This defeat also ended Northampton's home winning streak, dropping the overall record to 10-8. The Northampton Girls Soccer team will play on Tuesday at West Point, for the Virginia High School League State Quarterfinal Game! This is also the 3rd consecutive year that the NHS Girl's Varsity soccer team has made it to the state tournament! After playing one of their hardest seasons yet, competing against 6 5A schools & 4 2A Schools, NHS is proud to have both of their teams in the state tournament!
