Five teams from Northampton County Public Schools competed at the Tidewater Region 6 Odyssey of the Mind Tournament at Menchville High School this past weekend. As a super regional event, it featured teams from multiple regions and provided a preview of the upcoming state tournament. Our teams competed in Problem 3: “Cooking with Books,” where they created a performance inspired by classic literature, and Problem 5: “AstronOMical Odyssey,” which involved crafting a humorous story about constellations. Despite weather challenges impacting preparation, all teams gave outstanding performances!

All 5 of our teams did a absolutely wonderful job this year and gave wonderful performances, especially despite the amount of snow days we have had during what is our prop building months. First, our youngest members from Kiptopeke Elementary with students in grade 3rd and 4th competed in Division 1 of Problem 3 coached by Ms. Taylor Roth. These students gave a great performance and we are proud of some of the newest members of Odyssey and the future of successful teams. This team placed 5th in the Tidewater Region.

These students did well learning from a recent former OMer and took home 3rd place in the Tidewater Region.
